Taking cues from the boys

It's pretty obvious, that I'm a menswear kind of girl (obvious here, here and here). I'd pick a pair of trousers over a skirt any day, and the more tailored the style the better. So it's no surprise that I mostly turn to menswear for runway inspiration. I've sifted through the latest shows and here are my favourite looks from the Paris Spring2015 shows. *drumroll please*

Ann Demeulmeester Lots of layering, lots of longline shirts, a touch of sheer, what's not to love about this collection!

Dior Inspired by Dior's own writing and sketching, this is one collection to admire. And a pin-stripe suit that foregoes the classic buttoning for a drawstring? DIY never looked so sophisticated!

Dries Van Noten I don't even know where to start with Dries' latest creations, he really can do no wrong. Burgundy, greens and nude tones offer the perfect colour palette while the one-sided chest embellishment really brings a new light to the over-used body chain. From dancer to Samurai warrior, I do like the man this collection represents!

Lanvin Shredded suits, baggy pants, muted tones, this is what punks should look like when they grow up. Favourite piece? has to be the amber neck scarf.

Saint Laurent First things first: metallic cowboy boots!!!! Well, cowboy everything really; Slimane's Western groove will knock your spurs off.

Valentino Pattern on pattern goodness. absolute genius. always.

Yohji Yamamoto Bringing all the Japanese cool. It's layered, it's baggy, it's totally asymmetric and I love it. And I'm definitely adding orange to my wardrobe, stat.

lots of tailored love,
